Agency Expectations:
  • To ensure the highest quality of programs and services and possess a working knowledge of agency programs and services.

Position Summary: Assist the JCC community establish, maintain, and exceed its fitness goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Engage members in conversation; address them by first name; introduce yourself.
  • Must arrive to class ten minutes early.
  • Must conduct all classes in a safe and effective manner.
  • Responsible for turning off stereo equipment at the end of class.
  • Responsible for putting away and cleaning any equipment used.
  • Responsible for tidying up the group exercise studio; this includes water bottles, trash and other items left behind by members after each class.
  • Provide all music for class; music will be appropriate and must not contain expletives or offensive lyrics.
  • Clothing should be modest; bare chest or midriff is not acceptable; nor shorts with less than a 2in inseam.
  • Be able to use all technology required for the job: Upace/MyJ, stereo system, Paycom, etc.
  • You are responsible for maintaining current exercise certification(s) and CPR/AED. If either are expired, you may not teach until they are renewed.
  • Class attendance (headcount) must be recorded weekly. Classes averaging less than 8 people per class may be canceled due to attendance; 6am classes need to have a 5-person minimum.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  1. Knowledge and Education - Minimum Required or Preferred: Nationally recognized Group Exercise Certification required; High school Diploma / GED preferred; CPR/AED required.
  2. Experience - Minimum Required or Preferred: Minimum 1-year experience leading group exercise courses.
  3. Special Skills: Provide outstanding customer service, skilled motivator.
