Group Fitness Instructor - Ogden
Location: Ogden |
Employment Type: Part-Time |
Pay: $30 per class hour; $15 per hour for administrative work
Bring the Energy. Build the Community.
Got a playlist that never misses and a knack for making people push harder than they thought they could? The Front is looking for a Group Fitness Instructor who can turn a 50-minute class into the best part of someone's day.
About The Front
The Front Climbing Club has been Utah's home for climbing since the 1980s - but we're so much more than routes and rope. We're a community hub built around movement, connection, and pushing limits together. Whether it's on the wall, in the studio, or in a fitness class, our members come for the workout and stay for the people.
About the Role
As a Group Fitness Instructor at our Ogden location, you'll lead high-energy, inclusive classes that leave members stronger, sweatier, and coming back for more. This part-time role pays $30 per class hour plus $15 per hour for any administrative work, and it's built for someone who lives for that moment when the whole room hits their stride together.
What You'll Do
- Curate fresh playlists and class plans - no repeats back-to-back, ever
- Design a full 50-minute workout with a proper warm-up and cool-down, tailored to your class title
- Adapt on the fly so every fitness level in the room feels challenged and included
- Show up 10 minutes early to get the lights, equipment, and music dialed in
- Greet every participant like they're the reason you're there (because they are)
- Check in on injuries or limitations before class and adjust accordingly
- Correct form and cue with confidence to keep everyone safe and moving well
- Leave the space spotless - equipment wiped down, floor clean, ready for the next class
- Flag any equipment issues to the Front Desk or Group Fitness Manager
What You Bring
You might be a great fit if you:
- Hold a current CPR or First Aid certification
- Bring 5+ years of relevant experience (work, education, or training combined), including at least 3 months of teaching in the last year
- Have the physical fitness to lead by example and demonstrate proper technique
- Know your way around anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles
- Understand how to work music, tempo, and cueing into a class that actually flows
- Are the instructor who never no-shows - subs are rare, and last-minute cancellations aren't your style
- Can commit to teaching a minimum of 3 classes per week
- Bring high energy and genuine enthusiasm every time you step in front of a class
- Care about the member experience as much as the workout itself
Perks & Benefits
- Free gym membership
- Discounts on food and merchandise
- A built-in community that trains as hard as you do
- Room to grow - team members may also get the chance to contribute to areas like Ceramics, Café Operations, Adult Programs, or Facilities
