Job description

Group Fitness Instructor

The Front Climbing Club - Salt Lake City

Love bringing the energy, building community, and helping people move? Step to the front of the room and lead classes people can't wait to come back to.

About The Front

The Front Climbing Club is more than a gym-it's a community built around movement, connection, and the love of climbing. Our mission is to create innovative spaces that maximize the climbing experience, inspire meaningful connections, and foster an engaged community. We're an energetic, inclusive crew that takes our work seriously and ourselves a little less so.

About the Role

As a Group Fitness Instructor at our Salt Lake City gym, you'll lead high-energy, welcoming classes that leave members feeling stronger and more connected. This is a part-time role paying a $30 instructor rate (for classes taught) plus a $15 administrative rate. If you thrive on great music, good form, and even better vibes, this one's for you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead engaging, effective 50-minute classes-warm-up to cooldown-for all fitness levels.
  • Arrive early to set up equipment, test your music, and prep the studio for a great experience.
  • Greet members by name when you can, and build a supportive, inclusive community in every class.
  • Coach with clear cues, modifications, and progressions so everyone moves safely and confidently.
  • Curate high-energy playlists that motivate (and keep your voice audible over the beat).
  • Manage check-ins through the RGPro calendar and keep an eye on participation trends.
  • Keep your space clean, stocked, and ready, and flag any damaged or missing equipment.
  • Check in on injuries or limitations before class and adapt on the fly.
  • Show up reliably, hold a consistent schedule, and teach a minimum of six classes per pay period.
  • Bring your spirit to Front Fest and other community moments along the way.

What You Bring

  • You hold a group fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA) or CPT-plus Spin certification if you're teaching cycling.
  • You have a current CPR / First Aid certification.
  • You bring at least five years of combined experience (work, college/university, or trade school), ideally including time leading group fitness or instructional classes.
  • You know your stuff-anatomy, kinesiology, and solid training principles.
  • You communicate clearly, motivate naturally, and make classes genuinely fun.
  • You're reliable and punctual, and you line up responsible subs when life happens (no last-minute scrambles unless it's an emergency).
  • You can demonstrate exercises, lift up to 25 lbs, and stay on your feet for extended periods.
  • You love creating a customer experience that's friendly, welcoming, and built around our members' needs.

Perks & Benefits

  • Free gym membership-climb and train on us.
  • Discounts on food and merchandise.
  • A supportive, community-driven team and room to grow as an instructor.

Join Us!

If you're ready to lead, inspire, and be part of something bigger than a workout, we'd love to meet you. Apply today and bring your energy to The Front.
