Description

The Flower Shop at Cedar Memorial Park is seeking an experienced and motivated Flower Shop Manager to lead the daily operations and overall success of our retail floral business. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional & compassionate customer experience, leading a high-performing team, managing inventory and merchandising, and driving financial performance. While knowledge of floral operations is helpful, this role is primarily focused on business management, leadership, and operational excellence.


Duties/Responsibilities:


Customer Experience

  • Ensure outstanding customer service through customer interaction, timely order fulfillment, quality products, and effective problem resolution.
  • Support floral production during peak periods and ensure completed arrangements meet Cedar Memorial's quality standards.

Team Leadership

  • Hire, coach, develop, and schedule Associates while fostering a positive, customer-focused work environment.
  • Partner with the Assistant Manager to ensure efficient daily operations and achievement of departmental goals.

Business & Financial Management

  • Lead the overall performance of the flower shop by managing budgets, sales, profitability, inventory, purchasing, merchandising, and daily operations.
  • Develop and maintain operational processes that promote efficiency, inventory accuracy, effective merchandising, and an exceptional customer experience.

Required Skills:

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
  • Demonstrated business and financial management skills, including budgeting and performance analysis, inventory management, pricing and merchandising.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail point-of-sale systems.

Education & Experience:

  • Business degree in Retail Management or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three or more years of retail management experience with responsibility for staff supervision, budgeting, inventory management, merchandising, and financial performance.
  • Experience in floral retail or specialty retail is preferred.
  • Floral design experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to use a computer and perform typical retail operational duties.
