They spend much of their time designing floral arrangements for customer orders, walk-in clients, and special events. Other common responsibilities include managing inventory, maintaining a tidy workspace, and providing customer service by helping clients select flowers for various occasions. Collaboration is also important, as florists often work closely with team members to fulfill large orders or event installations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Florist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Florist, you need a strong understanding of floral design, plant care, and basic business operations, often supported by a certificate in floral design or horticulture. Familiarity with floral arrangement tools, point-of-sale systems, and inventory management software is typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills help florists stand out in delivering personalized arrangements and building client relationships. These competencies are vital for ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining product quality, and running a successful flower shop.
