Job Title: Flower Technician II

Department: Processing

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor or Team Lead

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Location: Midway, FL

POSITION SUMMARY

The Flower Technician II is responsible for ensuring incoming cannabis flower materials by confirming specifications, confirming compliance accordance; conducting visual and measurement tests; assist in printing labels; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform incoming inspections (moisture, texture, overall quality, size through sort, etc.) of incoming batches of flower and pre roll material before machine operation
  • Ensure proper bud size per brand standard, weigh out and package flower and/or pre rolls after machine operation
  • Receive raw batched items and ensure appropriate storage between runs
  • Coordinate with team members to meet daily packaging goals and standards
  • Verify product packages per quality control standards before finalizing batches
  • Organize and stage products for packaging operations, maintaining workflow efficiency
  • Perform all counts (batches, case packs, etc.) and fill out all required documentation
  • Seal bags/jars/tubes through equipment, inspecting quality to ensure seal is to standard
  • Prepare and apply labels to bags/jars/boxes of product secondary labels, ensuring compliance in accordance with product and label specifications
  • Ensure cleaning processes, verification paperwork is filled out, and PPE per cGMP and Trulieve standards are being performed
  • Depending on assigned work area, assist with printing batch labels to avoid delays in production
  • Train Flower Technician I to packaging, machine fill, label in job duties to quality standards
  • Maintain detailed records of completed tasks for documentation and traceability
  • Collaborate with the inventory teams and leadership to resolve discrepancies in documentation
  • Monitor and fill any automated packaging and/or pre roll equipment operations efficiently
  • Notify leads of any quality, machine operation, and material challenges when they occur
  • Attend to other job duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Controls and instrumentation experience
  • Ensure timeliness of return from breaks
  • Work in a fast-paced controlled environment
  • Work with chemicals, oils, and sharp objects
  • Processing quality experience a plus
  • Able to work under minimum supervision
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to manage changes in working schedule
  • Minimum 6 months in the Flower Technician I role
  • SAP/state mandated system (Metrc, Biotrack, MJ Freeway) basic entry experience preferred
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills

 

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (or a minimum of 18 years of age in CT, PA and WV)
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening  

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work in close proximity and with cannabis flower and particulates on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate at conversational proficiency with co-workers and leadership (Moderate noise)

 

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours weekly. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.
