Job description

JD Motorsports is currently seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of automotive systems and repair techniques, with a strong focus on customer service. This role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. The Automotive Mechanic will work with a variety of vehicles, including GM models, and will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards in all repairs and services.

Duties:

  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire service, and brake repair.
  • Diagnose automotive issues using advanced automotive diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Repair and replace components such as transmissions, powertrains, shocks & struts, and suspension systems.
  • Conduct alignment services to ensure proper vehicle handling.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various repair tasks.
  • Interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical issues.
  • Execute diesel engine repairs and air brake systems as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle conditions and repair options.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance overall shop efficiency and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic; dealership experience is preferred.
  • ASE certification is preferred, but not required
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and automotive electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, and auto estimating.
  • Familiarity with welding techniques is a plus.
  • Ability to work with various types of vehicles, particularly GM vehicles.
  • Experience with maintenance tasks including alignment, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repair.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about their vehicle needs.
  • Must possess your own hand tools; experience using power tools is essential.
