Junior Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description

Wage: $17-20/hour DOE

Shift: Full time, 40 hours/week, exact schedule flexible. Mon-Fri with occasional Saturdays and holidays.

Summary: We are looking for a hard-working and dedicated facilities/maintenance technician to join our Thanksgiving Point Facilities Team! We are one of the most unique and exciting places to work in Utah, no one day is the same. The individual in this role perform repairs, inspections, maintenance, troubleshoot, occasional installations, and renovations through out the property. This includes working on building systems and infrastructure to ensure safety, functionality, code compliance and maintain aesthetic appeal. Candidates should have considerable experience in maintenance and construction, preferably in two or more trades. Some experience in plumbing and light electrical work is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems in safe a compliant manner.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Report violations of policies, procedures, and guidelines to immediate supervisor.
  • Engage in department processes designed to keep work flowing in a cost-effective manner.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System/work order system using mobile phone to perform work, record work completed, identify parts usage, and use warranties in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide effective problem solving when work volume is high, and staff is spread thin.
  • Assist with event setup for large private and public events, where heavy lifting, tools or heavy equipment are required.
  • Professional and kind at all times with a great customer service attitude.
  • Inform management when supplies and tools need to be ordered to complete job.
  • Exemplify Thanksgiving Point’s Mission, Values, and Policies with curiosity, compassion, and confidence.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience with and ability to use a large variety of power tools and hand tools.
  • Experience with at least two different trades.
  • Trade school, certifications, and/or apprenticeships highly preferred.
  • Able to think critically, work independently, provide solutions, and follow instructions with integrity.
  • A strong desire and and ability to learn and work well with others.
  • Able to communication verbally in English.
  • Great organization and prioritization skills including managing time effectively.
  • Able to correctly source compatible parts and materials for specific jobs.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, and stand for long amounts of time.
  • Maintain clean, professional image, communication and demeanor at all times in work interactions, whether with co-workers, internal customers, or guests.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must hold valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
