Job description

TFG is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in the Memphis, TN area.

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing foodservice equipment at customer sites. You’ll ensure equipment operates at optimal efficiency, address customer concerns through clear communication, and maintain high service standards. Technicians will manage their assigned territories, perform timely repairs, and proactively address potential equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

Service Technicians are responsible for installs/repairs, upkeep, and troubleshooting of restaurant kitchen equipment sold and serviced by TFG.

  • Completes system installations by fabricating, mounting, and connecting various components such as: compressors, motors, control panels, gauges, and other related components to ensure power connections are secure and equipment is operationally sound
  • Responsible for assigned customers and territories, as well as administrative duties pertaining to customer calls, expense reports, time sheets, and tracking of necessary preventative maintenance and requests made by customers
  • Identifies malfunctions by testing, repairing, or replacing equipment/parts
  • Presents and maintains a professional image
  • Properly documents repairs and actions by completing equipment records
  • Builds and fosters strong relationships with customers each visit
  • Continues to learn on the job through participation in educational opportunities and training
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations

Skills, Abilities, Qualifications

  • Motivated to learn, retain, and apply equipment knowledge in the field and warehouse through hands-on and video training

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform essential physical job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Push or maneuver equipment weighing up to 900 pounds using wheels or dollies
  • Move equipment weighing up to 500 pounds from a dolly to a countertop or work surface
  • Climb ladders while carrying tools and equipment
  • Kneel, crouch, bend, or work from the floor for extended periods of time
  • Drive for extended periods of time as required for customer service calls and travel between job sites
  • Safely operate hand and power tools
  • Work in a variety of environments, including kitchens, warehouses, and outdoor conditions, with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and mechanical equipment

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Drivers License
  • Must be over 21 years of age to operate company vehicles

Preferred:

  • EPA Certification: Training/Certification Provided on Job
  • Electrical and Refrigeration Technician Experience
  • HVAC Technician Experience
  • General Interest in the Foodservice Industry

Work Environment

  • Field Service Technicians will work in Memphis, TN and surrounding areas to complete repairs at customer locations
  • Technicians may be required to provide on-call service, after-hours support, or work outside of traditional office hours
  • Technicians must be comfortable traveling for assignments, as required, and must provide a valid driver's license upon hiring
