Bentley Mills is seeking a Senior Textile Designer to join our design team and contribute to the development of innovative commercial flooring collections. This role blends creative exploration with technical product development, translating cultural insights, material innovation, and design narratives into commercially successful carpet products.

Reporting to the Director of Design and Product Development, the Senior Textile Designer will collaborate across design, product development, marketing, and manufacturing partners to bring new concepts to market. The ideal candidate combines strong visual design skills with an understanding of textile construction, color development, and commercial interiors.

Key Responsibilities Product & Pattern Design
  • Develop innovative carpet patterns and product concepts for commercial soft surface environments
  • Translate conceptual ideas into commercially viable flooring designs
  • Work through iterative sampling and prototyping to refine designs
  • Lead color development and palette creation for new product collections
  • Explore material innovation, including yarn systems, construction techniques, and textural effects
  • Collaborate with internal teams and mill partners to refine color and construction during development
Trend & Design Strategy
  • Conduct trend research and forecasting to inform product development and design direction
  • Contribute to design narratives and collection storytelling
  • Analyze competitive products and evolving market trends within commercial interiors
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with marketing to support product storytelling and launches
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners and mills on design development and sampling
  • Present design concepts and product strategies to sales teams, leadership, and internal design councils
