Job description

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • HS diploma; must be current UTMB student
     

Job Duties:

  • Students are recommended by faculty based on superior course performance and observance of interactions with cohort and patients. The students hired as Peer Tutors for coverage in the 11 traditional core courses. 
     
  • The candidates complete the hire process and orientation prior to conducting supplemental teaching/tutorial sessions for fundamental courses in the BSN curriculum. This creates an opportunity for the students to interact between cohorts and serve as unofficial mentors while serving as detailed review of essential concept mastery necessary for successful completion of the BSN program and certification exam. 
     
  • Peer Tutors will assist students, in small groups by helping students to clarify classroom/lab and textbook information, demonstrating with sample scenarios and examples, ushering students through the work, suggesting supplementary resources for students to utilize. 
     

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Two years college level study
