Job description

SUMMARY:

The Teller position is integral to providing exceptional client service and managing essential banking transactions. This role involves assisting clients by addressing inquiries and resolving basic issues to ensure high customer satisfaction. Tellers are responsible for accurately processing various transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, official checks, and money orders, while maintaining precise cash management by balancing and verifying cash totals. Additionally, they execute specific assigned tasks and collaborate with fellow tellers to support operational efficiency. Ensuring prompt and professional customer service is crucial, as is proactively identifying opportunities to cross-sell the bank's products and services.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitate the processing of various financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments, while addressing and resolving customer complaints or account discrepancies.
  • Provide clear and accurate responses to customer inquiries, ensuring a high level of service and support.
  • Efficiently handle a high volume of incoming calls, accurately assess the needs of each customer, and complete their requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all interactions are conducted professionally and that customer needs are met effectively.
  • Proactively inform customers about the bank's range of products and services, providing detailed information and guidance to help them make informed decisions.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all banking transaction information, ensuring that customer data is protected and that all procedural controls are adhered to rigorously.
  • Oversee the balance of vault cash, ensuring accuracy and security in the handling of cash and currency. Regularly reconcile cash holdings and manage discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor and manage currency levels, including tracking and coordinating the shipping and receiving of monies to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure that the work area is kept clean, organized, and professional in appearance, promoting a positive and efficient working environment.
  • Handle currency, transactions, and sensitive information with the utmost responsibility and confidentiality, adhering to all relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Utilize banking software to accurately track and manage bank information, generate reports, and assist in maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Follow all financial and security regulations and procedures set by the bank to ensure compliance and safeguard against potential risks.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Air-conditioned office environment.
  • Weekend hours are required.
  • Consistent and timely attendance is required to ensure uninterrupted operational efficiency and exemplary service delivery.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Walk, stand, bend, squat, twist, and reach.
  • Simple grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Extended keyboarding.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
