ASSET InterTech creates software (ScanWorks BST) that tests hardware. We are seeking a Senior Applications Engineer with deep expertise in both hardware and software to lead technical support initiatives and mentor junior team members. This role is critical in ensuring customer success with ASSET's ScanWorks Boundary-Scan Test (BST) software and JTAG Boundary Scan Test (IEEE 1149.1).

Candidates must be based in the Plano, TX area or be willing to relocate. This is a hybrid position and requires regular on-site attendance.

Position Description:

As a senior member of the Support team, you will:

  • Lead technical support efforts for US and international customers, providing advanced troubleshooting and guidance via phone, web, email, and on-site visits.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for JTAG Boundary Scan and ScanWorks BST, advising customers and internal teams on best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Development and Product Management to resolve escalated issues and influence product enhancements.
  • Deliver high-impact product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers and partners.
  • Develop and maintain complex ScanWorks BST Device Models for enhanced test coverage and memory device programming.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on technical processes and customer engagement.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, including process improvements and customer success programs.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in hardware/software development or technical support roles, preferably in test engineering or embedded systems.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with disciplined approach.
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor team members effectively.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with CAD tools for schematic reading and board layout.
  • In-depth knowledge of JTAG Boundary Scan Test (IEEE 1149.1) methodologies.
