QA Testing Analyst (Python)
Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Python, Pytest, and API automation testing. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing requirements, developing and maintaining automation test scripts, executing functional and integration tests, analyzing failures, managing defects, and supporting software releases. The candidate should have experience across the complete automation-testing lifecycle and should be capable of working independently with development, business, and testing teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements and create appropriate test scenarios and test cases.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python and Pytest.
  • Develop and maintain reusable automation-framework components, fixtures, utilities, and test data.
  • Perform REST API testing and automate API test cases.
  • Validate API requests, responses, status codes, headers, JSON/XML payloads, and error scenarios.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
  • Test APIs routed through an API gateway and validate integrations with downstream systems.
  • Validate authentication and authorization scenarios, including OAuth, JWT, bearer tokens, and 401/403 responses.
  • Identify, document, track, and retest defects.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other testing-team members.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience: Minimum five years of hands-on automation-testing experience.
Technical Skills: Strong programming experience in Python and hands-on experience with Pytest. Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks, along with REST API testing and automation experience using libraries such as requests. Hands-on experience with Postman or SoapUI, JSON/XML validation, and CI/CD platforms like Jenkins. Experience with test-reporting tools such as Allure or Pytest HTML. Experience with API gateway, downstream-system integration testing, SQL, database validation, and Git or another source-control system is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with JMeter or another performance-testing tool.
  • Knowledge of TDD or ATDD practices.
  • Experience testing cloud-based or containerized applications.
  • Experience with microservices and complex system integrations.
  • Relevant testing certifications are an added advantage.
