Overview
Due to continued, steady growth, TRC is seeking a Regional Manager - Testing - Commissioning for our Midwest Region. Travel throughout the Midwest Region will be required.
TRC is one of the premier national providers of testing and commissioning solutions in the country with a staff of over 250 experienced utility and industrial commissioning Engineers and Test Technicians. Our staff undergoes extensive, in-house training, ensuring efficient project start up and adherence to your individual standards and specifications. We follow well documented procedures and guidelines to ensure safe and thorough planning and testing, so you can manage risk and safeguard yourself and ongoing operations.
This position reports to the Director, Testing and Commissioning Services and is responsible for technical and administrative supervision of the Regional Operational Development in our Testing and Commissioning Services Department. Direct Reports to this Position: Ten to Twenty professional staff positions including but not limited to Field Engineers, Commissioning Engineers, Relay Technicians, and Test Technicians of varying degrees of experience.
Responsibilities
  • Testing - commissioning support or oversight to staff and customers in areas of technical complexity
  • Perform billable work for clients within expertise areas
  • Interface effectively with Clients, Staff, Internal Departments, External Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers, Manufacturers
  • Manage/ Mentor/ Lead/ Develop Staff/ Employees, including work assignments - performance reviews
  • Meet/ exceed profitability, quality performance, safety/ human performance and company/ practice goals
  • Exceed Client/ Customer expectations resulting in increased business and support business and RFP proposal development
  • Interface with the Testing and Commissioning Regional Managers to: assign and schedule work as required to meet project and client requirements, assuring the highest quality and most efficient use of resources
  • Assign and disburse company owned and rental test equipment

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional experience in testing - commissioning electric utilities equipment from low to medium to high through extra high voltage, including functional testing and commissioning of both apparatus protective relays (P-C - protection - control) and associated equipment
  • Schedule/ Hours/ Travel: Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, overtime holidays and night work if needed; Must be available to travel/ work out of town for several weeks at a time

Education - Certifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or Electrician License are highly preferred.
  • NETA III or IV Certifications and/ or Professional Engineer (PE) license are desirable but not required.
  • Above average written, oral and report capabilities are required
  • Excellent ability to review and understand electrical prints, diagrams/ drawings, schematics, SOWs
  • Proven experience scheduling and managing resources (including people/ staffing, equipment, financial, shared services) for electrical utility, data-center and commercial/ industrial work
  • US Citizenship or current US Permanent Resident status as well as current Driver's License in good standing
  • Perform Physical Demands of the job which may include the ability to life test equipment of up to fifty (50) pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function of the job.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
