Validation and Testing Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Validation Manager to join our dynamic team in the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry. As a Validation Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of validation engineers to ensure the successful validation and testing of our EV products. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive or electrical engineering, along with experience in managing direct reports.

Position Responsibilities

  • Validate the overall product against the defined program and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and execute all validation activities, including personnel, testing sites, logistics, and charging.
  • Coordinate vehicle shipping, logistics, support spares, off-site work, test support, and vehicle schedule
  • Create documentation for testing plans with pass/fail criteria and test reports that includes all the findings and data and correlate them to vehicle requirements.
  • Identify and source test equipment and instrumentation for vehicle-level validation.
  • Document and track all issues discovered by validation testing activities and lead issue resolution efforts.
  • Work with engineering teams to resolve issues found during validation testing.
  • Manage and track all vehicle testing schedules and highlight and prioritize critical path tests.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor (MSc or PhD preferred) in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or other related engineering fields
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in validation or testing roles within the automotive, electric vehicle industry, or aerospace industries.
  • Strong knowledge of EV systems and components as they relate to high voltage and Battery Management Systems.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in standard validation and testing procedures and all related documentation requirements.

Ideal Candidates Will Also Have

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 26262 and automotive regulations is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment.
  • Academic Level Testing and Validation Experience
