Position Overview:

The Merchandising Intern will assist in managing and executing both online and in-store merchandising solutions. In alignment with our brand strategy, the intern will support the mission and scope of the Merchandising department’s in-store and online brand presence. This role is integral to managing assets that support our internal sales and marketing teams. A successful candidate will be collaborative and possess a service-oriented mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Creative team with content management in our Product Information Management (PIM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems to ensure the accuracy and up-to-dateness of metadata and data for internal assets.
  • Build and update asset portals for new and existing products to control and distribute approved graphics, videos, and content.
  • Navigate and support management of Amazon Seller and Vendor Central platforms, facilitating necessary changes to catalogs, inventory, product information, and content.
  • Support online and retail merchandising projects under the direction of the Creative Director and Merchandising team.
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of physical planograms and display projects for review and testing.
  • Assist with any Digital or Physical merchandising projects under the direction of the Creative Director and Merchandising team.

Education and Experience:

  • Some knowledge or interest in marketing and/or merchandising.
  • Experience or understanding of retail merchandising is a plus.
  • Experience in online merchandising management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with online optimization tools.
  • A passion for the outdoor industry is preferred.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments without compromising quality.
  • Experience with Microsoft and Adobe software is a plus.
  • Experience with SketchUp/3d modeling/Rendering is a plus.
  • Experience with digital asset management is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work effectively in collaborative, high-performance teams.
  • Effective multitasking skills.
  • Strong drive and the ability to operate autonomously while meeting deadlines.
  • Positive and cooperative attitude, with strong communication skills to interact with individuals at all organizational levels.

Physical Demands:

  • Works in an office environment.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods in front of a computer.
  • The ability to move about the facility on a regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
  • Visual and hearing acuity.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work in different environments and weather conditions.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

  • General office environment, with some exposure to plant environment, with forklift and other general hazards.
  • Exposure to the outdoors, unstable ground, and some climbing.

Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

  • Closed toe shoes are required when on the manufacturing floor.

The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
