Testing Associate information

What is a testing associate?

Testing Associates are professionals responsible for evaluating software, products, or systems to ensure they meet specified quality standards and work as intended. They typically execute test cases, document results, report defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues. Testing Associates may work in various industries, including information technology, pharmaceuticals, or education, depending on the type of testing required. Their role is crucial in delivering reliable and high-quality products to customers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a testing associate?

To thrive as a Testing Associate, you need a strong grasp of quality assurance principles, analytical problem-solving, and attention to detail, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, or TestRail, and knowledge of manual and automated testing processes are typically required. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills help Testing Associates effectively report issues and collaborate with development teams. These abilities are crucial for identifying defects, ensuring product quality, and supporting successful software releases.

How does a testing associate typically collaborate with developers and QA engineers during the software development lifecycle?

Testing Associates work closely with both developers and QA engineers to ensure that software products meet quality standards before release. They participate in daily stand-ups, review requirement documents, execute test cases, and report bugs using tracking tools. Effective communication is key, as Testing Associates often clarify issues with developers and provide detailed feedback to QA leads. This collaborative environment fosters learning and helps Testing Associates gain exposure to a variety of testing methodologies and tools, supporting their professional growth.

About Caleres

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

The name Caleres comes from the Latin word calēre meaning to glow with passion or intensity. It’s that passion that helped our founder, George Warren Brown, forever change the way the world felt about fit. Before our company was born, shoemakers typically made the same shoe for both the right and left foot and it was difficult to distinguish shoes made for men and women. As a global footwear company, home to a diverse portfolio of loved and admired brands, Caleres has been ferocious about fit since 1878. The Caleres story is most simply defined by the company's mission: Inspire people to feel great...feet first. This includes creating sustainable value for all our stakeholders. We offer retailers and consumers a carefully cultivated portfolio of leading brands. Outfitted in our brands, customers can step confidently into every aspect of their life.
