Florida ENT and Allergy a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida is currently seeking a Surgical Coordinator for a full-time position. Office location to be determined and discussed. Our practice provides comprehensive general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care within the convenience of one medical group. Patient care is our top concern, and because we can provide both diagnosis and rehabilitative services, our patients know they can depend on our team for all their needs.

Surgical Coordinator Description:

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is comfortable with scheduling surgical procedures, medical terminology, multitask oriented, motivated, organized, must be a self-starter and willing to learn all aspects of the ENT surgical procedures.

Surgical Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Answering patient calls and surgery inquiries
  • Patient Counseling under the direction of the Surgery manager and surgeon
  • Verification of surgical benefits and obtaining authorizations
  • Scheduling surgical procedures at our credentialed centers and hospitals
  • Communicating and updating patients on surgery status
  • Reconciliation of deposits and copays for surgery
  • Ensure medical clearance, pre-op and post op instructions are relayed to patient in a timely manner
  • Obtaining proper consents for appropriate surgical procedures
  • Provide updates to surgeon in a timely manner

Surgical Coordinator Requirements:

  • Prior medical surgical procedure scheduling experience
  • Clinical experience is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members
  • EMR experience

Physical Demands: Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment as required of the position or directed by the Manager. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Incumbent must also be able to assist patients in transferring from wheelchair to an exam chair, when necessary. Responsibilities may also require the incumbent to travel between FENTA offices for support purposes. The incumbent must also be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds. We will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities if needed to perform the essential functions of the job.

This is an in-office position.

Training will take place in our corporate office in Tampa and can take 4-6 weeks before moving to the office being hired for.
