Job description

X-Ray Technician

This is a full time position, Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-6:30 pm.

Certifications And Licenses

Current and valid x-ray license

Current and valid medical assistant certification

X-Ray Responsibilities

Performs x-ray/radiology services for patients of the health center as requested by the provider

Prepares x-ray room and equipment, including sterile supplies, contrast materials and catheters, for patient

Processes exposures using film processors or computer-generated methods

Completes all documentation including medical charts as appropriate according to the medical records system and government regulations, including sexually transmitted diseases Cleans and sterilizes x-ray/radiology equipment

Responsible for a variety of tasks assisting patients and providing basic in-take tests and services; assists providers with direct patient care as directed.

Completes medical history, encounter and other required forms in preparation for examination.

Collects and records patient vital signs (e.g., height, weight, blood pressure).

Sets up room with necessary equipment and supplies as appropriate for procedure.

Explains processes to patient; provides relevant materials to patient as appropriate.

Completes all documentation including medical charts as appropriate according to the medical records system

Reviews EHR schedule prior to the end of the shift, to establish needs for the next day

Reviews HEDIS reports and addresses care gaps

Monitors attestations and coordinates completion of process

Conducts and follows-up on lab tests.

Explains tests and testing procedures to patients.

Conducts tests as directed by physician.

Assists physicians and other providers as directed and within scope of licensing

Assists at other AH centers as needed.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities
  • Assists nurses or providers with procedures and examination procedures as needed.
  • Performs CLIA waived laboratory procedures.
  • Performs specific functions in conjunction with health assessment such as vital signs, weight, height, etc.
  • Assists in maintaining stock for examining rooms/lab and general maintenance of examining rooms/lab.
  • Serves as a patient educator by providing information on specific health care issues.
  • Documents accurately in the medical record.
  • Participate in the Health Disparities Collaborative by collecting data, educating patients, and maintaining adequate documentation
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information
  • Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for provider.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians' instructions to patients
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean
