Inspects and approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work. Performs inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings, work instructions, technical specifications, QA procedures and other related documents. Inspected aircraft components to assure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and general aircraft standards. Rechecks work after adjustment or repair. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Maintains necessary inspection logs and writes inspection reports. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Little or no knowledge of the job. Moderate understanding of general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
  • Close supervision involving detailed instructions and constant checking on work performance.
  • Contacts are primarily within immediate work unit. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.
  • Perform uncomplicated mechanical measurements using a range of measuring tools. Review reworked and repaired items for acceptance. Describe nonconformance situations and may assist in the cause and resolution. Understand drawings and drawing notes. Perform Receiving and Inspection functions. Perform manufacturing in-process inspections. Perform non-destructive testing such as pressure and vacuum acceptance testing. Assist in performing higher levels of inspection. Other duties as assigned.

  • Reasonably good manual dexterity.
  • Able to bend, stoop, reach and lift 40 lbs. minimum repetitively.
  • Must be able to withstand repetitive contact with water and moisture.
  • High school graduate (or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to understand Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Ability to understand basic mathematical methods.
