  • Test Engineer (TE) Technician – Night Shift

Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hr (DOE)

Position Overview
XL Pro Staffing and Consulting is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Technicians to join a leading electronics manufacturing team in Plano, TX. Candidates will support manufacturing and testing operations by troubleshooting equipment, performing quality inspections, maintaining production equipment, and ensuring products meet company quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Support manufacturing, assembly, and production testing operations.
  • Perform equipment setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration verification.
  • Operate and maintain production equipment, fixtures, torque tools, pneumatic tools, hand tools, and electronic test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot failed units and identify root causes.
  • Collect and document production and test data.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow ISO 9001, ESD procedures, and manufacturing safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet production goals.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 1–3 years of electronics manufacturing experience.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience as an ME Technician or Test Technician.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and work instructions.
  • Experience with production equipment, hand tools, torque tools, pneumatic tools, fixtures, and electronic test equipment (DMM, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, electronic loads, etc.).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, AC/DC power systems, PCB troubleshooting, and power electronics.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, MES systems, manufacturing databases, and Windows operating systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift 20–40 lbs.
  • Soldering experience is a plus.
