Job description

Job Summary:

The Electronics Board Manufacturing Test Engineer will design, develop, and maintain test procedures and equipment for producing electronic circuit boards. This role involves ensuring that all manufactured products meet specified quality and performance standards, troubleshooting any issues that arise during the testing process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product reliability and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Development: Design and develop testing strategies and automated test systems for various electronic boards, including functional, in-circuit, and system-level tests.
  • Test Execution: Execute tests according to defined procedures, ensuring that all products meet technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot any issues or failures that occur during the testing process. Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes of failures, and areas for process improvement. Use statistical tools to monitor and enhance test performance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, results, and any modifications made to testing processes. Ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Test Equipment Maintenance: Manage and maintain testing equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly. Coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements when necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing improvements to testing methods, equipment, and processes.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to production staff on testing procedures and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of testing into the manufacturing process.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in electronics testing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Experience with test software development and scripting (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuit design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes and standards.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21, or Six Sigma are a plus.


Work Environment:

This position is typically based in a manufacturing environment and requires interaction with production staff, engineers, and quality assurance personnel. It may involve lifting and moving testing equipment and occasionally traveling to other manufacturing sites or Customers
