Role: SAP Test Lead

Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid 4 days a week - Need local candidates) 

Employment type: W2 only

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Test Lead to lead end-to-end testing activities for a large-scale SAP implementation and transformation program. This role will own test strategy, planning, coordination, execution, defect management, and reporting across SAP functional areas and integrated enterprise applications. The ideal candidate combines strong SAP knowledge with hands-on test leadership experience and the ability to coordinate business, technical, vendor, and consulting teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the overall SAP testing strategy, test plan, schedule, scope, and execution approach.
  • Lead System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression, end-to-end, and performance testing activities.
  • Coordinate testing across SAP modules, interfaces, integrations, data conversions, and downstream/upstream applications.
  • Define test scenarios, test cases, scripts, entry/exit criteria, and traceability to business requirements.
  • Manage testing dependencies across functional, technical, integration, data, and business teams.
  • Lead defect triage, prioritization, tracking, remediation, retesting, and closure.
  • Partner with SAP functional leads, developers, integration teams, business SMEs, project leadership, and third-party consulting partners.
  • Track testing progress, defects, risks, issues, and readiness metrics; provide clear reporting to program and executive leadership.
  • Coordinate test data preparation and ensure appropriate environments are available for each testing cycle.
  • Drive UAT planning and execution with business stakeholders, including tester readiness, scheduling, training, and sign-off.
  • Identify testing risks and dependencies early and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Ensure testing activities align with program governance, quality standards, change management, and release schedules.
  • Support cutover, go-live readiness, production validation, and post-implementation stabilization.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of SAP and/or enterprise application testing experience, including significant experience leading complex testing programs.
  • Demonstrated experience as an SAP Test Lead, Test Manager, or QA Lead on large-scale SAP implementations or transformations.
  • Strong understanding of SAP testing methodologies and the complete implementation lifecycle.
  • Experience leading SIT, UAT, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Strong knowledge of defect management, test execution, requirements traceability, and quality metrics.
  • Experience coordinating testing across SAP and non-SAP integrations in complex enterprise environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, competing priorities, dependencies, and deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business leaders, and external consulting partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or migrations.
  • Utility industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with tools such as SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager, Tricentis Tosca, Worksoft, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar testing/defect management platforms.
  • Familiarity with SAP data migration, interfaces, APIs, middleware, and integration testing.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise programs involving multiple systems integrators or consulting partners.
  • SAP, Agile, PMP, or testing/QA certifications are a plus.
