Vigor Marine is seeking an experienced Electronics & Electrical Test Integration Engineer to support construction, integration, dock trials, and sea trials for the MSV(L) program in Vancouver, WA.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role embedded inside the shipyard environment. The position bridges Engineering, Production, Vendors, and Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) providers to ensure all electronic, control, communication, and electrical systems are properly installed, integrated, and trial-ready.
This is not a design-only position.
This is an integration leadership role focused on execution and delivery.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Navigation & Bridge Electronics Integration
Support power-up, configuration, and validation of radar, ECDIS, GPS, gyro, AIS, displays, and associated sensors
Verify sensor-to-display data flow and system redundancy
Conduct failover and alarm validation testing
Support Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT) and Sea Trials
2. Communications Systems Integration
Oversee integration of internal and external communications systems (VHF/UHF, SATCOM, antennas, sound-powered phones, COMSEC interfaces)
Perform end-to-end signal verification and transmit power stability checks
Validate antenna grounding and isolation
Support Army/Navy communications validation during dock and sea trials
3. Mission & Network Systems
Validate data networks, CCTV systems, mission displays, cargo monitoring systems, and time synchronization systems
Confirm network connectivity and system-to-system data flow
Verify power and UPS integration
Coordinate interface readiness with Army-Furnished Equipment (AFE)
4. Machinery Control & Monitoring Systems
Support IMCS, PLC cabinets, propulsion control electronics, and alarm circuits
Perform signal verification (sensor ? PLC ? HMI)
Validate alarm setpoints and fail-safe configurations
Conduct local/remote control transfer testing
Support blackout and recovery drills
5. Electrical Power Distribution
Support testing of main and emergency switchboards, load centers, UPS systems, and battery systems
Perform insulation resistance and continuity testing
Support emergency power changeover tests
Verify grounding and bonding integrity
6. Safety & Alarm Systems
Test fire detection, flooding alarms, gas detection (if applicable), emergency lighting, and annunciation systems
Verify integration with IMCS and bridge systems
Conduct power-loss and failover testing
7. Army-Furnished Equipment (AFE) Integration
Serve as shipyard integration lead for GFE interfaces
Validate power, data, and grounding connections
Support Army-led test events
Troubleshoot ship/AFE boundary issues
Ensure configuration documentation alignment

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of shipboard electrical/electronics integration experience
Experience with shipyard construction environments
Working knowledge of PLC systems, IMCS, switchboards, and marine power distribution
Familiarity with Navy or Army vessel programs preferred
Experience supporting dock trials and sea trials strongly preferred
Ability to read and interpret shipyard drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics
Strong troubleshooting skills in integrated marine systems
Preferred Experience
Prior experience supporting MSV(L), LCS, OPC, auxiliary vessels, or similar military/commercial hybrid platforms
Familiarity with ABS or other classification society requirements
Experience interfacing with Government Furnished Equipment providers
Understanding of cybersecurity/network integration in marine environments
Physical Job Requirements
