Job description

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ROOT//SOURCE is seeking a Software Test Engineer who will test following a formal automated testing method using various telephony and networking hardware spanning multiple hardware platforms. Perform baseline, system, and regression level testing in support of research and development efforts. Analyze large log data sets and software test data while documenting results in a clear and concise manner. 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Two (2) or more years of experience as a test engineer developing/executing test scripts and analyzing results in while performing system testing of complex systems.
  • Strong Python experience
  • Ability to develop, build, and test multiple lab environments using various telephony and networking hardware following formal testing methods.
  • Experience using and developing scripts in Python and creating regular expressions for searching data sets.
  • Experience integrating new and old technologies into existing network configurations and test beds.
  • Ability to set priorities and rearrange schedules to address unexpected issues; and perform baseline, unit/integration, component, and regression level testing in support of research and development efforts.
  • Experience creating scenarios that support the creation of test cases and procedures; and the ability to manage discrepancy reports identified during testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or related discipline (or four additional years of related experience may be substituted for Bachelor's degree)
  • TS/SCI clearance with a FS polygraph required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Four (4) years of additional TE experience maybe substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications (nice to haves):
  • Knowledge of Jenkins or other Continuous Integration Frameworks
  • Knowledge of PyTest automation frameworks
  • Knowledge of SPLUNK
  • Knowledge of working in a Linux environment
  • Knowledge of working in an Agile environment

Clearance: TS/SCI clearance with FS polygraph is required.
Compensation:

The annualized salary range for this position based on full time employment is $125,000-$200,000
