What Is a Test Driver?

A test driver measures the performance of a vehicle for car manufacturers. While some tests are done with computers or crash dummies, test drivers are an essential part of the process that cannot be simulated in a lab. Test drivers observe odd noises, braking or accelerating issues, and maximum speed and report the data to the manufacturers.
