We are an early-stage, deep tech startup based in San Francisco, developing innovative hardware that rethinks human-computer interaction. We are backed by General Catalyst, Khosla Ventures, and Greylock Partners, with a founding team from Stanford, BrainGate, Oculus, and Tesla. While we can't reveal too much just yet, our team is tackling cutting-edge engineering challenges to bring revolutionary products to life.
About the role
We're seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to help develop and scale test infrastructure for our cutting-edge sensing technology. This role offers hands-on experience across hardware, firmware, and automation systems, with a focus on improving test coverage and product reliability. This internship offers hands-on experience, collaborative learning, and direct involvement in product development within a dynamic startup environment.
This position is primary for a summer-start internship, we welcome people to apply for consideration for fall internships as well.
What you'll do
  • Assist with sensor characterization and calibration to reduce device-to-device variability
  • Own prototyping and characterization of components for sensing architectural improvements
  • Work on firmware and bringup new sensors for sensor fusion
  • Contributing to embedded firmware to support test hooks and diagnostics
  • Build out a continuous integration (CI) test rack to automatically validate firmware releases and sensor performance
  • Document and clearly present engineering findings and recommendations.
Strong candidates may have
  • Experience with Python, PCB Design (Altium), Embedded C/C++
  • Experience with mixed signal design at a system/PCB level
  • Experience with RF circuits and components
  • Independent work ethic, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable in fast moving startup environment, excited to build independently
Compensation range
$40-$50/hr
