Job description

Job Summary:
Tesla is currently seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to help design, build, and operate large-scale datacenter networks that support internal app, training, and inference workloads. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available, scalable, and automated network infrastructure while ensuring exceptional reliability for Tesla’s critical applications.
Responsibilities:
• Design and build new datacenters, including dedicated training and inference environments, ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performance network architectures
• Collaborate closely with team members to maintain, optimize, and expand existing datacenter networks
• Partner with Tesla’s key application teams to understand growth requirements and deliver network solutions that provide high availability, reliability, and performance
• Gather and analyze networking requirements; evaluate options and propose, design, and implement effective solutions
• Monitor, analyze, and report on key network service metrics to ensure performance, capacity, and reliability targets are met
• Develop and implement automation solutions to rapidly deploy, configure, and update network equipment at scale
• Conduct product evaluations and proof-of-concept (POC) testing to assess new technologies and vendors
• Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, knowledge bases, and operational “Run-Books”
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during occasional weekends, after-hours periods, and holidays as needed
• Travel up to 10% as required to support datacenter projects and operations
Qualifications:
Required:
• 6+ years of experience in mid/large-scale global enterprise networking infrastructure
• Extensive experience in IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols (spanning-tree, OSPF, BGP), TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, end to end QOS, RDMA, InfiniBand, VLAN, VRRP, LACP, MC-LAG, EVPN with VXLAN, ACL and infrastructure cabling
• Strong Experience with Arista, Nvidia, Juniper, Cisco switches. Experience with SONiC is additional
• Good cabling & optics knowledge
• Experience with various tools such as Protocol Analyzer, SNMP, flow, IPAM, RADIUS, Splunk, network taps, and load/stress testing
• Experience with developing scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and collect metrics
• Basic experience with DevOps tools and technologies
Preferred:
• CCNP, JNCIP preferred
