JOB DESCRIPTION


JOB TITLE: Assistant Sales Manager & Program Manager

DEPARTMENT: Auto Sales

REPORTS TO: Dir, Auto Sales

SUPERVISES: N/A

POSITION TYPE: Exempt

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:


The Assistant Sales Manager & Program Manager will be responsible for all aspects related to managing JAE’s Tesla business including Tesla Inc., with its headquarters in Austin, Texas. In addition, the individual will function as the Tesla Global Account Manager representing the interests of JAE worldwide. The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for providing sales support to customers and prospects related to JAE’s Tesla business. The individual may be responsible for managing and developing Sales Account Managers if business growth warrants. The Assistant Sales Manager will also responsible as program managers for design-in, development and utilization of JAE Product at key customers.

This will be accomplished by collecting customer requirements, including customer specific requirements where appropriate, providing interconnect solutions and ultimately designing-in JAE standard, custom, and semi-custom products.


The individual must be able to interface with JAE target customers and internal staff in the areas of OEM Applications and Connector Product Design. This is to include connector component materials, GD&T, electrical and electronic signal characteristics, thermal properties and the overall design of connectors as they relate to specific applications.



MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  1. Develop overall business strategy and tactical plans for achieving Tesla business objectives.
  2. Create and administer individual objectives/sales plans for each sales division.
  3. Oversee compensation and incentive plans for employees if applicable.
  4. Meet JAE customers and prospects in conjunction with staff to promote JAE products and technology.
  5. Responsible for providing formal sales analysis, forecasting and budget creation.
  6. Prepare Tesla status reports for JAE Electronics’ executive management on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  7. Facilitate the interface between sales, marketing, engineering, design and manufacturing groups within JAE regarding the development of new products.
  8. Authorize within specified guidelines identified by policy, price, and terms for customers on both standard and custom products and tooling/engineering costs.
  9. Oversee the Tesla Sales Group activities including: a.) Independent Rep Firm hiring or termination, and/or b.) JAE direct sales engineers hiring or termination, and/or c.) Distribution hiring or termination.
  10. Administer performance reviews for direct reports if applicable.
  11. Represent JAE at various industry trade shows and / or functions.
  12. Represent JAE Electronics within the corporate structure as it relates to global strategy and execution of initiatives and plans.

This position requires traveling 20% of the time.
