Job description

What to Expect

In this role, you will serve as a key advisor and administrative partner supporting the Optimus humanoid robot service and technician teams. You will work alongside technicians and engineers to ensure all administrative, documentation, and operational support processes are handled accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard.

You will not perform hands-on work on the robots themselves. Instead, you will focus on enabling the technical team by owning documentation integrity, process adherence, and other critical admin duties. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, excellent technical writing, a dynamic and adaptable approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
  • Partner closely with Optimus technicians and engineering teams to manage and maintain high-quality documentation, including service records, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, parts usage logs, and process updates
  • Ensure all admin processes related to service operations, diagnostics support, and team workflows are properly documented, followed, and continuously improved
  • Support the team with general administrative duties that keep operations running smoothly, including scheduling coordination support, status tracking, data entry/integrity, and facilitating clear handoffs
  • Communicate status, blockers, documentation gaps, and process improvement opportunities clearly and proactively to technicians, engineers, and leadership
  • Help maintain organized digital and physical admin systems while adhering to company safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Act as a reliable advisor on administrative best practices to help the technical team stay focused on robot diagnostics, repair, and validation work

What You'll Bring
  • Strong ability to be dynamic and adaptable in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment; comfortable shifting priorities and supporting multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities, with a proven track record of creating clear, accurate, and usable documents, guides, logs, and reports
  • Experience maintaining organized records, knowledge bases, and administrative processes (familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration/documentation tools preferred)
  • High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership for data integrity, documentation quality, and process compliance
  • Ability to work collaboratively alongside technical teams (technicians and engineers), communicate effectively, and serve as a supportive advisor
  • Comfortable in a high-tempo lab or service environment; positive, solution-oriented attitude with proactive communication of status and needs
  • Experience with robotic systems, mechatronics, complex electromechanical systems, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or similar technical environments preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to manage documentation workflows and other support duties efficiently
  • Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools; willingness to learn internal Tesla systems quickly
