Job description

Exciting opportunity to be eligible for a $2,500 bonus when you join our team.
This position can be located in Blacksburg, VA and surrounding areas.
As a Business Sales Representative -Territory Accounts, you'll work with AT&T's cutting-edge business products and services focusing on our mobility solutions. You will own a defined local geography and focus on creating new business with small and mid-sized companies. This is an acquisition sales role built for a motivated outside seller who is comfortable with various prospecting strategies including cold calling and walking into businesses to set appointments that will then be used to work with the customer to identify their challenges and create solutions to solve your customer's problems. You will spend most of your time in the market identifying these opportunities, meeting business owners and decision-makers, and positioning the right AT&T solutions.
Earn with confidence and upside. This role offers a competitive base salary as well as performance-based commissions tied directly to your sales results. At 100% of target, annual earnings range from $83,300 to $109,700. Earnings ramp as you build your customer opportunities, develop new customer relationships, and consistently close new business. Your income is directly correlated to your activity, execution, quota performance, and the strength of your sales pipeline.
What you'll do day to day:
  • Balance field and office collaboration: Sales employees will concentrate on acquiring new business and conducting customer meetings most often, at the customer location. When not in the field, sales employees are expected to collaborate with their team from their assigned office location and place of work.
  • Prospect for new logos: Identify and pursue new business through customer prospect lists that will be provided and will enable the seller to cold call door knock, and email. The seller will also be able to leverage in-person customer meetings, work referrals, networking, and local market research.
  • Set appointments and create a pipeline: Build a consistent approach of customer outreach, qualify prospects, schedule customer meetings, and advance opportunities through the sales process.
  • Own your territory: Manage a defined geographic territory, prioritize target accounts, understand local business needs, and execute a market plan that supports consistent quota attainment.
  • Sell a broad business portfolio: Position AT&T solutions across wireless, fiber, internet, voice, software defined networking and cybersecurity.
  • Serve multiple customer segments: Engage small and mid-sized businesses across vertical industries such as retail, professional services, healthcare, construction, logistics, hospitality, and local multi-site operators.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: Move opportunities from prospecting and discovery through proposal, negotiation, close, implementation handoff, and follow-up.
  • Maintain disciplined CRM activity: Record calls, visits, appointments, opportunities, next steps, and forecast updates accurately and consistently.

What you'll bring:
  • 2-5 years of quota carrying outside acquisition sales experience is ideal.
  • Demonstrated success acquiring new business sales through prospecting, cold calling, referrals, appointment setting, and disciplined follow-up with both customers and in Salesforce.
  • Comfort spending significant time in the field visiting businesses, initiating conversations, and building relationships with owners, operators, and decision-makers.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to uncover customer needs and connect them to AT&T's product and solution portfolio.
  • Confidence handling objections, negotiating, asking for the sale, and advancing opportunities toward close.
  • Self-disciplined work style and the ability to manage daily activity, Salesforce updates, pipeline health, and quota expectations.
  • Ability to collaborate with the team from the assigned office location, if available, when not acquiring new business or conducting customer visits in the field.
  • Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation to support field-based selling.
