Job Overview:

The Terminal Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the LTL trucking terminal. This role involves coordinating and optimizing all aspects of terminal activities, including personnel management, safety compliance, customer service, and financial performance.


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Lead and supervise terminal staff, including drivers, dock workers, and administrative personnel.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient terminal operations, including loading, unloading, and freight handling activities.
  • Implement operational strategies to meet service goals and performance metrics.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and audits to promote a culture of safety within the terminal.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor terminal employees. Provide ongoing performance feedback and address performance issues as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a strong team by fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.

Customer Service:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and expectations.

  • Implement and oversee inventory control processes to ensure accurate tracking and handling of freight.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate regulatory compliance.

Continuous Improvement:

Qualifications:
