Manager of Terminal Operations
The purpose of this position is to provide the required quality of service and safety to passengers through accountability for train service performance, departmental coordination and operational excellence in and out of North or South Station.
Salary Range: $100,000-120,000 annually
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Must have Bachelor's degree in Transportation or related field or equivalent combination of work experience, training, and/or education.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of and compliance with all safety and operating rules, including CFR Part 240, CFR 242, and CFR Part 217.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the Transportation/Operating department
  • Prior Railroad experience preferred.

Skills:
  • Must be qualified NORAC Operating Rules and Safety Rules.
  • Must have an understanding and the application of the Hours of Service Law (HOS).
  • Preferred candidate to be qualified on physical characteristics of the division assigned.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of CBA rules and calling procedures for Train and Engine Service employees.
  • Must have excellent oral and written skills.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with other departments.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the direct day-to-day supervision of the train service in and out of North or South Station.
  • Management equipment cycles and staffing assignments of T&E crews to ensure both service and contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with mechanical department to ensure proposer maintenance and service of the Commuter Rolling Stock.
  • Coordinate train movements and service disruptions plans with the Network Operation Centers.
  • Responsible to confirm that employees under direct supervision are fit for duty and fully qualified in the performance of their duties and operate in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with other Keolis Departments.
  • Responsible to ensure that employees are required to wear the prescribed personal protective equipment and uniforms.
  • Responsible to ensure that employees deal with customers in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Provide field supervision, in conjunction with other management, to insure the least possible adverse effect to the travelling public in the event of unusual conditions that will affect train movement.
  • Administer collective bargaining agreements as required through regular job performance.
  • Investigate Accidents/Incidents and prepare required reports.
  • Investigate customer comments, implement corrective action when warranted.
  • Other duties as assigned.
