Job description

JOB SUMMARYย 

Playsย a crucial role in ensuring smooth cargo operations and exceptional customer experiences.ย Responsibilities include coordinating cargo movements, resolving discrepancies, andย maintainingย effective communication across various departments, government agencies, and overseas offices, with a focus onย accurateย transportation updates andย timelyย responses to customer inquiries.ย 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSย 

COMMUNICATION ANDย OPERATIONS:

  • Reaches outย to respective departments outside of Import Customer Service to amend and fix any discrepancies and ensures the cargo is coordinated to the proper POD.ย 
  • Contactsย other departments outside of Import Customer Service to correct and resolve any errors and confirm operational feasibility for change of destination requests.ย 
  • Coordinates with GVA for the commercial and operational feasibility of special requests (e.g., change of destination, added transshipment, re-exports, returned cargo,ย mis declaredย cargo).ย 
  • Communicates with government agencies, overseas offices, and other departments on the status of the containers.ย 
  • Provideย accurateย quotes for charges upon request.ย 

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Respond promptly, professionally, and effectively to phone calls and emails.ย 
  • Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring proper entry filing for customers.ย 
  • Resolvesย customers' issues and concerns by taking theย appropriate actionsย and using all available tools to meet their needs on the first contact whenever possible. Provides extra information to improve the customer's experience.ย 
  • Providesย accurateย andย timelyย answers to all questions about transportation status and updates, following corporate guidelines.ย 

DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING:

  • Cross-check the manifest against the discharge list toย identifyย any discrepancies.ย 
  • Input the manifest data into the relevant system (e.g., OVA).ย 
  • Submits the manifest to Customs for Direct approval and ensures it is accepted, handling rejections as needed.ย 
  • Receives packing lists and adjusts manifested piece counts accordingly.ย 
  • Ensure that the updated manifest information isย submittedย to both Customs and the Terminal.ย 
  • Manage in-bond permits (IT, T&E, IE) by canceling, renewing, or issuing them.ย 
  • Run reportsย to apply necessary corrections.ย
