Job description

CLASS SUMMARY
Technical and compliance driven position that maintains airport safety, security and operational efficiency. Conducts required safety inspections of airfield and airport facilities and maintains records of discrepancies and corrective action taken, ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. Also provides continuous monitoring of airport activity and responds to incidents and emergency events as required to provide necessary support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Under supervision conducts daily, periodic and continuous surveillance inspections of airfield movement and non-movement areas, terminal, and passenger areas to ensure the following: Safety and security of the public, airport stakeholders and CVG Airport Authority staff. Compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations including, but not limited to FAA Part 139, FAA Part 77, and TSA Part 1542.Compliance with KCAB policies including, but not limited to OSHA, Rules and Regulations, Minimum Standards, Airport Certification Manual and Airport Security Program.
• Works with CVG AA Departments to address unsafe/non-compliant issues found during airfield/airport facilities inspections.
• Implements wildlife control procedures and ensures compliance with the airport's Wildlife Hazard Management Plan and applicable Federal and State regulations.
• Per leaderships direction, implements functions of CVG AA Snow and Ice Control Plan and performs various functions to ensure safe operations, including but not limited to, runway friction testing, winter weather condition monitoring, compliance monitoring.
• Reviews NOTAMs daily for accuracy and issues/cancels NOTAMS as required.
• Administers and audits airfield inspection programs and training documentation regulated by FAA Part 139. Submissions are reviewed by next level leader.
• Assists in preparation for annual FAA Safety Certification Inspection.
• Assists with reviewing, updating and ensuring compliance with Airport Certification Manual, including associated plans contained therein. Assists with constructing, updating and maintaining other Department manuals, policies and procedures. Submits changes for review to next level leader.
• Coordinates and proctors movement/non-movement area driving familiarization training and testing for airport personnel.
• Monitors construction activity and coordinates with CVG AA departments to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency is maintained through the adherence of CSPP's & CSPD's.
• Works with KCAB departments to address customer related issues. Provides high level of customer service in responding to questions and inquires from the public, airport stakeholders, and government regulatory agencies.
• Responds to incidents and emergency events providing support to CVG AA departments as required.
• Provides support role for special events, VIP's, and charter operations.
• Provides on call availability for response to emergency situations and winter weather events.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Education: Associate's degree
Minimum Years of Direct Experience: 2 Airport operations experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS
Required
• Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Obtain and maintain US Customs and Border Protection Clearance.
• Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training.
Airfield Driving - This position requires driving on the airfield and airfield ramps.
DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE OF
• FAA/TSA regulations concerning certification and operations of a commercial airport;
• Airport Security Program requirements;
• OSHA Regulations;
• Reading and interpreting construction plans.
DEMONSTRATED SKILL IN
• Clearly and effectively communicating, negotiating and advocating, both orally and in writing;
• Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, and spreadsheets;
• Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.
