Summary/Job Scope:
The Terminal Operator will move finished product in and out of the terminal in a timely, cost-effective, and safe manner through rail offloading. This process requires open availability (including nights, weekends, holidays), especially during Spring and Summer months.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Requires a self-motivated, safety-oriented person that can work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Rail offloading with product.
  • Will use computers that are programmed to run equipment as needed.
  • Requires computer knowledge.
  • Generate bills of lading for loading.
  • Will be processing invoices for every load loaded using our SAP billing system.
  • Monitor the load out of product to customers.
  • May be required to be on call to address customer issues while the Self-Loading system is in operation after normal terminal operating hours and weekends.
  • Daily reconciliation of shipping reports.
  • Requires knowledge of excel spreadsheet for data tracking.
  • Requires some accounting knowledge. (Example-Balancing a check book)
  • Maintain and repair equipment and facilities through preventive maintenance.
  • Must have background working on equipment to make repairs. (trouble shooting equipment, disassemble, repair, re-assembly of equipment)
  • Will be using hand tools to grease bearing, tighten drive belts and chains on equipment.
  • Not required but knowledge of arc welding and cutting torch operation is very useful.
  • May be requested to work overtime during breakdown events or return to work during these events.
  • Assist the Terminal Manager with day-to-day office activities and other special projects.
  • Assume Terminal Manager Responsibilities during vacations and other work interruptions.
  • Practice and observe that terminal is in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Perform duties to ensure proper appearance of facility including general cleanliness, landscaping, and janitorial duties.

Qualifications:
  • One-year certificate or trade school with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and mechanical ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Contribute to possible improvements at terminal.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
