Posting Number 01155 Position Title Student Assistant - Theatre Department School of Design, Arts, and Communication: Theatre Position Summary
Assist the Technical Director in all aspects of theatrical production including set construction, lighting & sound and staffing for outside events using the Berman Family Performing Arts Center.
Education/Experience
Currently enrolled Stevenson University student in good standing with the University academically and judicially.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability
  • Know theatrical terminology
  • Familiar with hand and power tools
  • Previous experience with theatrical productions is a plus
Physical Requirements
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Activity includes keyboarding, standing and/or sitting, walking, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, talking and hearing. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal and reading printed materials. Subject to both environmental conditions; activities occur inside and outside. 
Essential Functions
  • Assist the Technical Director on all performance aspects.
  • Staffing outside events held in the theatre.
  • Assist with box office during productions.
