The Position

Design and/or modify business related analytics including process creation or modification in order to produce needed analytics. Interacts with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their problem and needs. Support creation of both functional and technical requirements for development.

 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a liaison between the IT Development Group and business units as it relates to reporting and analytics.

  • Design, create and utilize advanced SQL queries as needed.

  • Design and implement project plans for team and stakeholders from concept to completion.

  • Identify, analyze, interpret, and communicate trends or patterns in complex data set(s).

  • Audit and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.

  • Collaborate with management to prioritize business and information needs.

  • Define new data collection and analysis processes in partnership with stakeholders and team members.

  • Research and recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.

  • Develop test plans, coordinate, and complete solution testing.

  • Document system requirements by defining scopes and objectives, and assist in the creation of system specifications.

  • Participate as a project team member or act as a lead on multi-disciplinary projects related to the assigned work as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration.

  • IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years related IT experience in a Business Analyst role.

  • Analytics and reporting business analyst experience is strongly preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SQL and/or Teradata or other reporting tools / languages.

  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP's, IF Statements, conditional formatting, charts).

  • Experience in statistical and quantitative methods.

  • Excellent technical skills to process large quantities of data in an error-free manner.

  • Manage competing resources and priorities.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

  • Strong problem and solution identification and resolution.

  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in order to be successful.

  • Pro-active, have initiative and ability to reach out to ensure tasks and deliverables are met, risks and mitigation strategies uncovered.

  • Ability to effectively direct the flow of meetings and other conversations.

  • Proven ability of following through on commitments.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration
  • Equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
