Rutgers Institute for Nicotine & Tobacco Studies (INTS), in partnership with the Rutgers School of Nursing, invites applications for one or more Assistant Professor, Research Track (non-tenure track) positions. The Institute is one of the nation’s leading tobacco focused research centers and its faculty have received over $75 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. As one of the nation’s largest, most comprehensive nursing schools, the Rutgers School of Nursing is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education, evidence-based research and health care delivery, and promotion of community health and is ranked among the nation’s top 15 Nursing Schools in US News and World Report.

This position is designed for early-career investigators and will primarily support ongoing funded research projects within a highly collaborative environment. Faculty will work closely with established investigators to advance the Institute’s research portfolio, contributing to activities such as data analysis, manuscript preparation, and study coordination. Candidates are expected to contribute immediately to funded projects and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across Rutgers Health.

Research-track faculty may also pursue the development of an independent line of research and will have opportunities to contribute to or lead external grant applications, including as Principal Investigator, as appropriate.

The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment with INTS and the Rutgers School of Nursing. The Institute provides office space, research infrastructure, and access to resources to support scholarly productivity and career development.

This non-tenure track position is contingent upon the availability of funding. While this position’s primary responsibility is in conducting research (80-90% effort) to grow and sustain extramurally funded research, a small allocation of effort towards teaching at the School of Nursing (10-20%) is possible.
