In tender preparation, the three main types of tenders are open tenders, restricted tenders, and negotiated tenders. Open tenders are publicly advertised and accessible to all qualified bidders, restricted tenders are limited to selected suppliers, and negotiated tenders involve direct negotiations with one or more suppliers. Understanding these types helps procurement professionals select the appropriate process for project requirements.

What is the job description of a tender?

A tender preparation professional is responsible for creating and submitting competitive bids or proposals to secure contracts. This involves analyzing tender documents, gathering required information, preparing technical and financial documentation, and ensuring compliance with submission deadlines and specifications. Strong writing, attention to detail, and knowledge of procurement processes are essential skills for this role.

What are the 7 stages of tendering process?

The tender preparation process typically involves seven stages: identifying needs, researching opportunities, preparing the bid documentation, submitting the tender, evaluation and clarification, contract award, and contract management. Tendering professionals must ensure compliance with requirements and deadlines throughout these stages. Familiarity with procurement regulations and attention to detail are essential skills in this process.
