Summary
Seeking a full-time Legal Practice Assistant to support attorneys in restructuring, corporate, and tax practice groups
Essential Job Functions
  • Manage attorney calendars and schedule meetings
  • Docket and monitor deadlines
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Maintain organized physical and digital case files
  • Process conflict checks and expense reports
  • Perform preliminary document reviews
  • Manage and organize transactional binders
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and basic legal documents
  • E-file and serve pleadings
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information

Necessary Knowledge & Skills
  • Self-starter with great work ethic, eager to learn
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Positive team contributor
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Adobe
  • Adept with PACER and CM/ECF
  • Experience with iManage, Westlaw, and Harvey a plus
  • Easily identifies and adapts to changing workflow priorities

Educational and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of legal secretarial work
  • Solid references

Work Environment
  • In-office position with possibility of occasional remote work once established
  • Ability to work extended hours on occasion when necessary
