Job description

We are seeking a Board Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a full-time locum opportunity beginning in late September 2026. This assignment combines outpatient oncology with light inpatient rounding and offers temporary privileges for an expedited start.

Assignment Details

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday
  • Clinic: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Night Call: 5:00 PM–8:00 AM
  • 1–2 weekend 24-hour call shifts per month (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)

Practice Setting

  • Outpatient Hematology/Oncology Clinic
  • Acute Care Hospital
  • EMR: 80% Paper / 20% Meditech

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Outpatient Hematology and Medical Oncology care
  • Manage approximately 18–22 patients per day
  • Daily inpatient rounding (typically 1–2 hours based on consult volume)
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies as clinically indicated
  • Collaborate with hospital specialists and oncology support staff

Patient Volume

  • 18–22 outpatient patients per day
  • Light inpatient consult service

Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
  • Active Rhode Island medical license (facility will wait for licensure)
  • Rhode Island CSR required
  • DEA required
  • Board certification verification required at submission
  • Rhode Island license verification required if already licensed
