Shift: Mon-Friday 7:30AM – 4PM

Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Wax Assembler. What is wax assembly? A 2-stage process of 1 ) repairing defects in wax patterns (a wax replica of a part that will be manufactured: cast in aluminum), and 2) strategically attaching gates, pour cups, pour spouts, filters, etc. to the wax patterns so they can be cast in aluminum.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A hands-on work opportunity that requires you to be on your feet and moving throughout the day lifting and handling 15 to 30 pounds routinely. Work is performed independently and in teams of 1-2 people.
Responsibilities:
  • Most work will be performed at an assigned workstation where you will first use pottery-like hand tools to inspect and repair visual defects (excessive relief, cracks, voids, etc) found in wax patterns.
  • You will then take each defect-free wax pattern and – using a combination of blow torches, flat irons, wood burners, hot plates, etc. – will follow a set of work instructions to strategically attach/ assemble all required gating and casting features to the wax pattern.
  • The end result is a high-quality part-mold assembly that is ready to be cast in shell material.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have good eyesight and pay attention to details.
  • Good manual dexterity (Hand and Motor Skills)
  • Ability to stay focused and to follow pre-established instructions.
  • Must know how to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to follow sequential procedures and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.
