Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Virtual Mental Health Therapist, where you will provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health services through telehealth platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives by delivering personalized therapy sessions, conducting assessments, and developing tailored treatment plans all from the comfort of your home. You will work with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns with professionalism and empathy. Your expertise will help foster resilience and promote mental well-being across communities while adhering to clinical standards and ethical guidelines.

Duties

  • The Virtual Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality, ethical, and compassionate therapeutic services via a secure telehealth platform. This includes:
  • Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and intake evaluations.
  • Developing individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Providing individual and/or family psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, or children (based on your specialization).
  • Utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.).
  • Maintaining timely, accurate, and ethical clinical documentation in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Collaborating with external providers, as needed, to ensure continuity of care.
  • Adhering to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and licensing board requirements.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical professionals, special education providers, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), psychopharmacology, and other relevant areas.

Experience

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited program.
  • Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC)- Must be willing to work under clinical supervision as required by Maryland state law.
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
  • Proven experience providing individual therapy services utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.)..
  • Comfortable and proficient with providing clinical services via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort with technology (EHR, video conferencing).
  • Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient record management.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
