Job description

Job Summary This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid-point hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time offer. NATURE OF WORK Under close supervision, performs work of a routine nature in a legal office environment.

This position has office specific responsibility. Nature of Work (Illustrative Only) Reviews, redacts and copies recordings contained on digital media; reviews, redacts and copies digital images; reviews, redacts and copies electronic documents; enters information and digital files into case management system; transcribes meeting and interview notes and recordings; develops and maintains office records and files; prepares and processes confidential and sensitive legal documents and correspondence; sorts, indexes and retrieves forms, correspondence and documents; checks and completes records, forms and documents; creates and maintains logs of activities; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned. Experience and Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND one (1) year of experience working in an office environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires a successful completion of a background check.

Special Requirements: Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of: County policies and procedures; general office practices and procedures; business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammatical usage; digital editing software, practices and procedures. Skilled in: Maintaining confidentiality; the use of the English language, including spelling, punctuation and grammar; the preparation of documents and reports; operating various office equipment and word processing; creating and maintaining files; taking and recording notes; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public; prioritizing work assignments to meet time constraints.

Ability to: Plan, prioritizes, manages and responds to multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment; accomplish assigned tasks under minimal supervision; use modern office equipment and computers; communicate effectively verbally and written; lift up to 5 - 25 lbs. Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity; generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking and 20% standing; working at a computer monitor for extended periods required; the job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment. There is an extreme likelihood of exposure to graphic images and recordings.
