Job description

Description

This position is the recognized resource responsible for the development of radio programming files for distribution and installation. The position is responsible to identify existing and request new Radio IDs, Talkgroups and Encryption for use in developing and building the templates.

This position requires the extensive use of computer skills and this person must be able to accurately enter data into the radio programming files and associated asset management software and databases.

This person must function with minimal supervision and require minimal direction while performing these duties.

Requirements:

• Three years of experience as a Radio/Communications Technician

• Two years of experience with P25 Radio Programming (Motorola & Kenwood)

Identify radio programming needs through written request, user contract, related task, or initiated change/requirement.

• Contacts user to define and verify all requested changes.

• Develop prototype template for field-testing.

• Requests radio IDs and Talkgroup IDs for radio templates.
