What’s the Role


The User Support Specialist provides essential technical support across our company's locations, ensuring smooth operations and efficient use of technology. This role primarily focuses on user support but requires a solid understanding of IT infrastructure to assist with a wide range of technical issues. This position matters because reliable, responsive IT support keeps our teams productive and our operations running without interruption. The ideal candidate is a motivated problem-solver who is dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.


What You’ll Own


• Provide prompt and effective technical assistance to employees, resolving issues related to hardware, software, email, and networks

• Configure equipment for new hires, including imaging laptops and provisioning user accounts

• Collect, wipe, and process equipment for departing employees as part of offboarding

• Troubleshoot and resolve computer and peripheral problems, including hardware and software malfunctions

• Provide user training and support on company-approved applications and systems

• Install and configure printers and company-approved applications; map shared network drives

• Perform Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades on user devices

• Support desk moves, including disconnecting, relocating, and reconnecting workstations, monitors, phones, and peripherals

Requirements:

What You Bring


• Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred

• 1 year of IT support or helpdesk experience, or demonstrated IT exposure through coursework, certifications in progress, or hands-on personal projects

• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Server+ a plus

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, networks, and servers

• Proficiency troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across common operating systems (Windows, macOS) and applications

• Working knowledge of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP); experience with ERP systems a plus

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, both verbal and written

• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and dependable, with a willingness to learn valued over formal credentials
