ATHLETIC COACHES - FALL 2026-2027 SEASON
Period: 2026-2027 Academic Year
Union Positions - Covered by Collective Bargaining Agreement
The United Nations International School is looking for passionate and experienced athletic coaches for the 2026-2027 fall season.
Available coaching positions are for the following sports:
  • Middle School and Varsity Cross Country - Assistant Coach - 2 Positions
  • Boys 7th Grade Soccer- Head Coach
  • Boys 8th Grade Soccer- Head Coach and Assistant Coach
  • Boys 9th Grade Soccer- Assistant Coach
  • Boys Varsity Soccer- Assistant Coach
  • Girls MS Soccer- Assistant Coach
  • Girls 8th Grade Volleyball - Head Coach and Assistant Coach
  • Strength and Conditioning- Intern

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a coach of a UNIS sport team, you will be required to attend a minimum of three events per week for the duration of the season. An event may be a practice or game or meet scheduled after school hours and will often require you to travel by bus with the team to venues throughout New York City. Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Teach and develop fundamental skills for players at all levels.
  • Making a fair selection of team members during try-outs.
  • Attend and manage the scheduled number of games and practices for the season
  • Develop a program plan for the season that incorporates goals, sequential skill development and game plans
  • Collect, store, and maintain equipment, during and after practices and games.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Head coaches will need to have 3+ years of coaching experience
  • Assistant coaches will need to have 1+ years of coaching or related experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Work with student athletes, parents, faculty/staff
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification required
  • Knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the sport
  • Enthusiastic, committed, and passionate for coaching
  • Ability to motivate and showcase positive leadership to student athletes partaking in the sport
  • Experience with the sport is preferred and recommended but not required

COMPENSATION
Compensation is between $2,200 to $5,000 commensurate with years of experience and coaching position type as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (salary is prorated for part-time or temporary positions).
