Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Assistant Registrar, the Transfer Credit Evaluator reviews and evaluates student transcripts to determine transferability of college credits and equivalencies completed at other educational institutions. Transfer credit is determined through analysis of student records in relation to guidelines provided through the regional accreditation association and the University System of Georgia in consultation with Registration Services, faculty mentors and Deans.
The Transfer Credit Evaluator plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment with the expectation of continuous improvement and first-class customer service. This position participates in divisional activities as a member of the Enrollment Management Services Division. Collaborative and team-oriented skills with a commitment to student success are essential attributes for the individual in this position.
Responsibilities
  • Performs complex and technical duties involved in the evaluation of student records and transcripts for completion of degree requirements utilizing Banner student software
  • Determines course transferability and equivalencies completed at other educational institutions (under the supervision of the Assistant Registrar)
  • Checks for course repetitions and verifies accreditation of other educational institutions attended by students
  • Evaluates and processes AP/CLEP/IB scores
  • Explains evaluation determinations to deans, department chairs, faculty and students, as needed
  • Assists with processing of course substitutions in Degree Works
  • Provides assistance to students, staff, faculty and the general public regarding registration and transfer policies and procedures during peak enrollment periods and assists during new student orientation
  • Assist in process of seeking and implementing technologies designed to streamline credit evaluation process.
  • Maintains high internal and external customer service standards; performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ year(s) of relevant experience
  • 1+ year(s) experience with Ellucian BANNER system and Microsoft Suite (Word and Excel)
  • 1+ year(s) experience in research, interpreting and applying policies and procedures
  • 1+ year(s) experience providing excellent customer service

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data entry
  • Familiarity with Degree Works

Proposed Salary
38,300 - 45,900
Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
