Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has opened for an analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive Manufacturing Engineer to join our production and engineering team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving a major corporate re-identification and product update initiative across our transducer engineering department. You will manage engineering changes, update technical documentation, coordinate rework activities, and support continuous improvement efforts.
This is a high-impact, hands-on, on-site role combining mechanical design updates with shop-floor coordination. You will work closely with production lines, machine shops, and quality teams to sort inventory, revise mechanical drawings, adjust tolerances, and ensure seamless manufacturing execution. If you possess a degree in engineering or physics, strong CAD skills, and an aptitude for project coordination, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Changes & Documentation Control
• ECO Management: Complete and process engineering changes (ECOs) to update technical documentation, mechanical drawings, and BOMs to reflect current product branding and specifications.
• Tolerance & Drawing Updates: Review and update mechanical drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and configuration management records.
• Document Control: Ensure strict compliance with documentation control procedures and maintain data integrity within enterprise PLM and ERP systems.
Production Support & Rework Coordination
• Stock Sorts: Assist with inventory and stock sorts to identify parts requiring rework, modification, or updating.
• Shop Coordination: Coordinate rework activities directly with production teams and machine shop personnel to minimize downtime and clear backlogs.
• Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing manufacturing costs and streamlining production workflows.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience Baseline: 0 to 2 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
• Technical Mastery:
oSolid working knowledge and practical experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or equivalent).
oFamiliarity with documentation control procedures, Bills of Materials (BOM), engineering drawings, and configuration management.
oBasic exposure to ERP/PLM systems or enterprise data management tools.
• Core Competencies: Results-oriented change agent with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; exemplary interpersonal communication abilities; strong project management skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Attributes
• Hands-on machining experience and strong tolerancing skills.
• Prior exposure to Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, or root-cause analysis (Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a strong plus).
• Experience utilizing enterprise ERP systems (e.g., Visual Manufacturing) and PLM platforms (e.g., Omnify, Agile, or EPDM).
Additional Position Details
• Engagement Type: On-site contractor role with an estimated duration of up to 18 months.
