Job description

Quality Technician
Summary:
Kelly Services is seeking dedicated Temporary Quality Technicians to perform component, packaging, process, and product quality checks to ensure all objectives and customer standards are achieved. The ideal candidate models safe work behaviors and encourages team safety.
Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST
Pay: $24.05 per hour
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products and materials
  • Visually and physically inspect items for compliance
  • Perform moisture testing using various equipment (e.g., gravimetric, Aqua Measure)
  • Complete UPC scan quality assessments
  • Measure glue weights in the lab and document findings
  • Check product registration, print quality, appearance, web width, repeat length, and other visual or dimensional attributes
  • Produce color standards and product samples
  • Conduct coefficient of friction (COF) tests using monitoring equipment
  • Produce and test handmade popcorn bags for microwave functionality
  • Execute additional lab testing and quality inspections as directed
  • Conduct quality checks on incoming raw materials, including wetting tension, optical density, and solid checks on adhesives
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and complete required reports
  • Utilize and continually develop computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Communicate quality and safety issues clearly to the supervisor and production staff
  • Safely operate using all required protective equipment
  • Adapt and learn new test procedures, equipment, and company policies
  • Promote and support company policies and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Maintain a clean and healthy workspace
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience in quality control or production environments preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
